I am Melody Lima, founder of YogaMatUnrolled. I am a yoga & meditation teacher, wife, mom, plant-based food explorer, lover of books and sometimes writer. I feel like a creative adventurer telling my story.
I wear many hats and find myself going in many different directions. Sound familiar? Can You relate to a busy life-style?
Yoga has colored my path with many tools to make me whole, healthy, active and curious.
My wish is for everyone to have the exact tools they seek for a life filled with Happiness, Fun, Gratitude, Health and Abundance.
I am an E-RYT® 500 Hour Registered Yoga Teacher with the Yoga Alliance. With over 14 years of experience and several certifications, I have taught yoga and meditation to everybody: busy moms, kids, pre- & post-natal moms, seniors, beginners, overworked dads, adults with disabilities and many students looking to advance their practice.
I love to teach from the 8 Limbs of Yoga presented in Yoga Sutras of Patanjali.
I mentor and teach students earning certifications in yoga teacher trainings
Need to expand your knowledge? I am a Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider® (YACEP®). I teach workshops and programs that qualify as Continuing Education hours for Registered Yoga Teachers® (RYT®s).
Most yogis I know, myself included, love to read.
Looking for book or article? Here at YogaMatUnrolled, I will share with you my articles and some book reviews I write.
Always a student, I continue my education every year. Currently, I am learning about Yin Yoga and Neurosculpting.
Living only 10 miles from New York City, my off the mat tools are inspired by attending in a ballet performance, dinner at a great restaurant, a tour of big museums, documentary films and loads of organic shops to tingle my pallet.
YogaMatUnrolled started as a blog to share my observations on & off the yoga mat with students and parents.
Now it is a growing community for Everybody who wishes to live a whole, creative, healthy focused, dreams-come-true life. With some cool jazz, a thick book and a hot cup tea, too.
Testimonials for Melody:
"Melody is creative, both artistically and in her classes. She is a great communicator, I love her writing. One of the few teachers I know who is not afraid to be her authentic self." ~Genny
"Courageously and admirably honest, Melody brings a cool, fun element to every class and workshop." ~Mia
"In practicing meditation, we're not trying to live up to some kind of ideal -- quite the opposite. We're just being with our experience, whatever it is."
I believe Yoga is for Everybody and Everybody can Practice Yoga both on and off the mat.
